Marble Countertop Sales and Installation
Composition
Quartzite is a metamorphic rock that forms when sandstone is exposed to high pressure and temperature deep within the earth. It's made up of 90–99% quartz grains and mineral silica.
Quartzite is harder than granite, nearly twice as hard as glass, and harder than the blade of a knife. It is also resistant to common kitchen acids and will not etch when exposed to things like lemon juice or vinegar. Quartzite is durable, heat resistant, and easy to maintain.
Appearance
Quartzite comes in natural slabs with unique veining and light, earthy tones. Quartzite countertops come in a variety of finishes, including polished, honed, concrete, leathered, and brushed.
Care & Maintenance
Quartzite countertops are durable and low maintenance, but they need regular cleaning and sealing to prevent stains and etching. Quartzite can be cleaned with soap, warm water, and a soft cloth. Counter Craft will use Lifetime Sealer on your countertop at the time of installation which will cover the lifespan of your countertop and will not need reapplication.
